Guest Post Guidelines

Thanks for your interest in guest posting on The Pastor Wife Life website. I am very excited about expanding the reach of the podcast by adding blog posts!

These guidelines are intended to provide you with some assistance in preparing your post for submission. Submissions that follow these guidelines are much more likely to be published.

I am looking for posts that fall into one of the following categories:

  • Pastor Wife-ing 101: The basics. What every new pastor’s wife needs to know.
  • Pastor Wife Life: Our life outside of the ministry. Marriage. Family. Homemaking. Work. We may be in the ministry, but we still have to grow in our marriage, parent our kids, and get dinner on the table, and we might even be juggling a job on top of all those!
  • Pastoring: Connecting with and nurturing the women that God has placed in our sphere of influence. We may not carry the title of “Pastor”, but we are all called to love and care for people! (NOTE: this is not about the position or title of “pastor” but about the act of shepherding people)
  • Leadership: Developing leadership skills is an important part of the pastor wife life. Whether or not we have an official title, we are leading in our day-to-day living and in the church.
  • Behind the Scenes: Spiritual growth. Behind every great pastor’s wife is a lifestyle of abiding in Him. The number one struggle that was revealed through the PWP Survey was a need to develop a deeper relationship with God.

Submissions will be accepted year-round, however, relevancy and calendar availability will both be factored in.

Preference will also be given to original posts (not published elsewhere on the web) that are well written and specific to the topics mentioned above.

Post size should be at least 300 words and no more than 1000.

If your post contains images, they must be high quality and owned by you or copyright free. I will require you to include the source of the photos so I can properly credit them.

Short paragraphs are highly encouraged. Readers find them much easier to read!

Submissions may be in made in a Word document, a Google doc, Evernote, or other format.

I reserve the right to make limited editorial changes (grammar and spelling), but I will contact you if more significant changes or clarification is needed.

I will need a short bio to include at the end of the post, along with a link to your website. I would also love to include a photo of you as well.

At this time I do not offer monetary compensation for guest posts. I do not accept guest posts that are submitted for the sole purpose of obtaining link bait (keyword link). If you have a product or website, I would love to support you! Please provide a link to your website and/or social media profiles in the bio.

I will let you know if your submission has been accepted and an expected publication date. The date of publication will depend on how many guest posts are in the queue and the time-sensitivity of the post.

In summary, please include:

  • a clearly worded title
  • post content of 300-1000 words
  • a brief bio
  • a photo of you
  • links to your website or social media (optional)
  • post images (optional)

Submissions (or links to cloud-based documents) should be emailed to jacque {at} thepastorwifelife {dot} com with “Guest Post Submission” in the subject line.

Thanks so much and I look forward to working with you! Please let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to answer!
